I love this post, Yvonne. Thanks for sharing it with us. I see so many aging women who just can’t accept that they no longer have what it takes to turn heads. They may even eschew a senior discount because they don’t want to admit their age. Such vanity. Let’s live the fullest we can, with what we do have left. xx

Isn’t it a wonderful piece of writing, Jan?
I plead guilty too!

Just yesterday my friend wrote on fb that it was her dad’s 93rd birthday. Since he has been telling everyone he is almost 93 since last year. she says he will be almost 94 from tomorrow. Here’s to living long enough to boast about how old we are!

My husband turned 90 in April. He told everyone he was 90 all last year. He’s 90 1/2 now. As we get older, we go back to having half-birthdays.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 59. Now at 82, I cannot tell you how grateful I am for the bonus years I have been given. I hope I have used them well. I’m still trying.

Lois,
I think I like the idea of half-birthdays again.
Gratitude, strength, and honesty courses through your poetry – I am so glad to have found it.

Honored to have done so, Lois.
